Fernand Lopez’s Perspective on Ciryl Gane’s UFC Title Loss

Fernand Lopez, coach of MMA Factory, openly discusses Ciryl Gane’s unsuccessful bid for the UFC heavyweight championship in March against Jon Jones at UFC 285. In a fight that ended in just two minutes, many have questioned various aspects, from Gane’s mindset to his training dedication and wrestling preparation. However, Lopez chooses to credit Jones as the better fighter that night and emphasizes the humbling nature of MMA.

Lopez states, “What’s good about this sport is that MMA can humble you and make you think twice… sometimes you just have to understand that Jon Jones was good that day. He was in a state of flow, and he was good. We did a couple of mistakes, and that’s it.”

Ciryl Gane is set to return to the octagon this Saturday in his home country of France, where he will face Serghei Spivac in a pivotal heavyweight matchup, headlining UFC Fight Night 226.
